A former Director of Music, Michael is an experienced composer, orchestrator and conductor who holds a Doctorate in Composition (Leeds, UK) in addition to numerous Fellowship awards. His catalogue of chamber music is published globally and he has been selected for broadcast on national radio and television.
In 2010, he orchestrated numerous tracks for the Columbia Artists US touring show Celtic Circle before becoming increasingly in demand for production music.
His catalogue of production music is available to industry through numerous labels published by LA-based Warner Chappell, BMG & APM, and can regularly be heard across all global territories on mainstream TV, Prime, Netflix, Apple TV+, including BAFTA nominated and EMMY award winning productions.
Notable film scoring successes include recognition for his scores to the dark drama ‘Hookworm’ (BFI premiere) and 'Beyond the Horizon' (RTS Nomination). ‘Edge of Audible’ received Best Original Score Not Produced for Picture (Library) at the Short Sounds Film Festival in 2020. The same cue also won Best Music Track at the LA Motion Picture Festival in 2021 and the Global Music Awards in 2022. His score to ‘Annie Pannie’ won the Silver Award for Best Original Score at the 2023 London Movie Awards. 2024 saw continued success being awarded Best Composer at the Colossus Film Festival in Paris. In 2024 Michael’s score to the feature ‘A Fluorescent Sky’ was awarded Best Original Score at both the Las Vegas Film Festival and Rome International Movie Awards. The same score won the ‘Best Score’ award at the Los Angeles Film Awards in July 2025.
